Our team at Travel Doctor-TMVC Perth are passionate about travel and have first-hand experience working and travelling within many of the destinations our patients visit. This allows us to provide travel medicine to a variety of travellers. As passionate travellers, we understand the risks and rewards associated with international travel.
Our medical team have undertaken additional training in this discipline to enable them to provide accurate and individualised advice, all relevant to your destination and itinerary.
We have five experienced travel medicine practitioners, three trained nurses and three enthusiastic administrative professionals who work together to provide a professional service to all patients.
Dr Dunne is a graduate of UWA Medical school, and spent three years working in the hospital system in Western Australia before travelling to the USA, where she worked for two years undertaking molecular biology research at the Mayo Clinic.
On her return to Australia, General Practice seemed an obvious choice for a mother of young children, and she worked for the following 23 years as a part-time general practitioner, initially in Subiaco, and then at Student Health Services, Edith Cowan University.
The Travel Medicine consultations she encountered at ECU reinforced her interests in travel medicine, and she left general practice to join the Travel Doctor-TMVC team in 2013.
Since 2005 Dr Dunne also works as a senior lecturer in the Medical school at UWA, tutoring in General Practice, Clinical Skills, and Case Enhanced Learning.
Her opportunities for international travel have been limited as a parent, but more recently has accompanied her husband to developing countries throughout Asia.
