Our team at Travel Doctor-TMVC Brisbane are passionate about travel and have first-hand experience working and travelling within many of the destinations our patients visit. This allows us to provide travel medicine to a variety of travellers. As passionate travellers, we understand the risks and rewards associated with international travel.
Our medical team have undertaken additional training in this discipline to enable them to provide accurate and individualised advice, all relevant to your destination and itinerary.
We employ four experienced travel medicine practitioners, four trained nurses and three enthusiastic administrative professionals who work together to provide a professional service to all patients.
Dr Cowley is a fellow of the Australia College of Rural and Remote Medicine and has experience across primary care, acute care, public health and tropical medicine.
He has lived and worked in many rural and tropical areas in Australia and has an interest in preventative and travel health. He is an accredited yellow fever doctor.
Dr Sarah Chu graduated from the University of Queensland in 2004 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery.
She is a member of the International Society of Travel Medicine and has a Certificate in Travel Health and is an accredited Yellow Fever doctor.
In addition to being awarded a Fellowship from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, she is a Fellow of The Australasian College of Tropical Medicine (Faculty of Travel Medicine), and Associate Member of the Faculty of Travel Medicine Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. Dr Chu also holds a Diploma in Dermatology from the Australian Institute of Dermatology, and a Diploma in Child Health from Westmead Children's Hospital and the University of Sydney.
She enjoys practising yoga and is a registered level 1 yoga teacher with Yoga Australia. She is a Senior Lecturer for the University of Queensland and enjoys teaching the next generation of doctors-in-training.
Dr Neda Nikpour is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and has experience in all aspects of general medicine, with a special interest in Travel Medicine and skin cancer checks. Dr Neda completed the certificate of Skin Cancer Medicine, Dermoscopy and general dermatology from The University of Queensland.
She recently moved from Darwin to Brisbane. Having lived and worked in the tropics for over six years, she has a good knowledge of tropical disease management and is an accredited Yellow Fever doctor.
In her free time, Neda enjoys cycling, walking and spending time with her family.
Andrew has over six years’ experience within the occupational health industry. As the Brisbane CBD clinic manager his focus is on customer service and providing high quality healthcare. He ensures each patient has a positive experience and is proud of the service his team provides their patients each day.
Carolyn has a Bachelor of Health Science degree and has post graduate Nurse Immuniser and Workplace Health and Safety qualifications. She has worked in many care settings around Australia.
An integral part of clinical team at TD for many years, Carolyn enjoys educating her patients about ways to keep safe and healthy when travelling
Clare is a Registered Nurse and an Endorsed Nurse Immuniser. She has trained in UK and has extensive experience in adult medicine, rehabilitation, gynaecology and community nursing.
Since arriving in Australia 15 years ago, she has worked in general practice. Her special interests are preventative medicine and its role in the health and well-being of adults.
