Australian drought triggers disease alert 

NSW Health has warned of the increased risk of contracting Q fever in rural regions ‘as drought and high winds may increase the risk of the disease spreading’. Precautions include vaccination for people working with livestock and also for those aged 15 years and above with risk of exposure through ‘inhaling dust particles contaminated by infected animal secretions’.
