The number of European travellers returning from Brazil with yellow fever this year has now reached 8. As with previous cases, the Czech national had not been vaccinated against yellow fever prior to travelling. The European Centre for Disease Control (ECDC) assessment has stated: ‘the entire state of São Paulo should be considered at risk for yellow fever transmission’ and travellers are highly recommended to get the vaccine before travelling.
