Lyme Disease

Lyme disease (Lyme Borreliosis) is a bacterial disease transmitted by infected deer (Ixodes) ticks. Tick-borne infection mainly occurs in the Northern Hemisphere, including parts of Asia (Asian Russia, China and Japan), northwestern, central and eastern Europe, and the north-eastern and north-central United States.

Symptoms

The first sign of Lyme infection is a small wound from the tick’s bite, with early symptoms including joint pains, a generalised rash, fever, and fatigue. Later symptoms can include stiff neck, joint swelling, heart problems, painful arthritis, and mental disorders.
