Overview

Macao is an autonomous region in East Asia of just 30.5 sq. km but with 650,900 people. Macau was formerly an overseas dependency of Portugal, but reverted to Chinese authority in 1999. It occupies a small peninsula and three small islands.

It has a subtropical climate and typhoons can occur in summer and autumn. Average relative humidity is between 75% and 90%. The average annual temperature of Macau is 22.7C. July is the warmest month, with an average temperature of 28.9°C. While the coolest month is January, with an average temperature of 14.5°C.
