Overview

San Marino is a land-locked republic on the slopes of Monte Titano in east central Italy and covers 61 sq. kms. The land is dominated by the mountain and a valley. 17% of the land is arable. Tourism and wine production provide income.

The climate is temperate with cool, mild winters and warm summers. Temperatures in winter seldom fall below minus 6°C and in July the temperature reaches 26°C.
