Overview
Macedonia is a land-locked, mountainous region and separated from Greek Macedonia by the Kozuf and Nidze mountain ranges. The name itself is the centre of bitter disputes.
The climate is continental with a high rainfall. In winter, heavy snowfalls are common. Temperatures range from 0°C in winter to 24°C in July.
