Overview

Liechtenstein is an Alpine principality in central Europe occupying 160 sq. kms. The western third of the country is reclaimed flood plain and is fertile. The east is mountainous. Income is from industry, postage stamps and livestock production.

The climate is affected by the Baltic Sea which moderates the otherwise continental climate. Average temperatures vary from minus 5°C in January to 17°C in July.
