Croatia is located in Southeastern Europe, bordering the Adriatic Sea, between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenia. There is 5790km of coastline if the island regions are included. The climate is mediterranean and continental; continental climate predominant with hot summers and cold winters. The winters are mild with dry summers along the coast.

The country is geographically diverse; flat plains along Hungarian border, low mountains and highlands near Adriatic coast, coastline, and islands.
