Overview

Bahrain consists of 35 low-lying islands in the Arabian Gulf, 24 kms from the eastern coast of Saudi Arabia and 28 kms from the west coast of the Qatar Peninsula. The main island of Bahrain occupies 578 sq. kms. Causeways link two islands, including Bahrain, to Saudi Arabia.

The climate is temperate from December to April. Summer months, especially June to September, are hot and humid. August and September are particularly hot and humid, with temperatures 37°C and humidity 97%. June to November has little, if any, rain.
