Measles in Melbourne

The Victorian Department of Health has issued a second measles alert this week connected to a sick traveller on a flight into Melbourne from Kuala Lumpur on the 7 March. People who were on the flight and in the terminal at the same time are asked to monitor their health for measles symptoms.

The fist case this week involved a backpacker who is believed to have contracted measles in Indonesia, who has visited various tourist sites in the south of the state while infectious.

If you believe you have measles symptoms, contact your GP or Hospital ahead of arrival so they can take appropriate steps to avoid contact with other patients.
