The CDC’s Fluview site, reporting data for the week to Dec 28, notes rising influenza activity with, unusually for this time of year, Influenza B/Victoria viruses predominating, followed by A(H1N1)pdm09 viruses. Low or minimal flu activity was reported in only seven states (Hawaii, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, Delaware and Idaho). While information from Flu News Europe outlines rising activity across the region during the last week of 2019 with type A viruses detected most often.
