UK's flu season summary

The level of vaccine effectiveness for the adjuvanted trivalent influenza vaccine given to people aged 65 and over during the 2018/19 flu season was estimated to be 62% protection ‘against medically-attended’ confirmed infections, according to a Public Health England report. Further, ‘evidence of overall significant influenza VE in 2018/19, most notably against influenza A(H1N1)pdm09, but as seen in 2017 to 2018, there was reduced VE against A(H3N2)’.
