Mixed reports on insect-borne infections in India

A report into Japanese encephalitis (JE) infections registered in the eastern state of Assam to September puts its YTD total at 212 cases and 39 deaths. Lastly, in Patna (Bihar), the risk of JE and other mosquito-borne infections is said to be increasing due to continuing rains, and Odisha has reported nearly 500 scrub typhus cases in 2021.
