JE count lower in NE state of India

Assam’s Japanese encephalitis cases to Sept 9 are considerably lower this year compared to 2019 figures, with 318 infections and 51 deaths. One health official has attributed the fall to less time spent outdoors and other pandemic restrictions rather than ‘rigorous awareness activities’.
