Fly-blown infection in Zambia

A second case of East African trypanosomiasis has been reported in the area of South Luangwa National Park this year. ProMED reports that the latest case, a young woman, had been bitten on the leg by a tse tse fly during a wildlife viewing drive one afternoon ‘but was told there had not been any cases of trypanosomiasis for years in this area’.
