Overview

Gibraltar is a narrow peninsula jutting southwards from the south-west coast of Spain and consists of a long, high mountain with a narrow sandy plain to the north. It covers 6.5 sq. kms. It is the link between the North Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. There are few fresh water sources and no arable land. Tourism and shipping are important.The climate is Mediterranean with mild winters and warm summers.
