Overview

Andorra is a small, neutral European country in the Eastern Pyrenees about midway between Barcelona and Toulouse, covering 453 sq. kms and with a population of 66,000. The terrain is mainly gorges and valleys running between mountains. Sheep raising, banking and tobacco provide income. Andorra is duty-free. Tourism, especially skiers, is an important source of income.

The climate is alpine and cold for six months of the year. Mild in spring and warm in summer. Temperatures are around 2˚C in January and in July can reach 19˚C. The capital city is Andorra la Vella.
