PAHO diphtheria report

The diphtheria outbreak that started over three years ago has persisted throughout 2019. Within the region, Venezuela continues to have the highest burden of infections (albeit with fewer locations involved compared to last year), followed by Haiti with 169 suspected cases from four different departments: Nord, Centre, Sud Est and Nippes.
