Afghanistan reports its second wild poliovirus case

Wild poliovirus type 1 (WPV1) is endemic to Afghanistan, who has reported its second case in 2024 originating in the eastern region. Five environmental samples across Nangarhar and Kandahar have also tested positive for WPV1. Read more
