Dr Kristin Roe BMBS (Flinders), FRACGP, FACNEM Medical Director, The Travel Doctor-TMVC Adelaide. Dr Kristin Roe grew up in Germany beginning her medical studies at Freiburg University & completing her degree at Flinders Medical School in Adelaide in 1990. Prior to this, as a consequence of an adventurous mother she circumnavigated the globe by ship several times before her ninth birthday. During her school & student years she was fortunate to also travel extensively through Europe & northern Africa & later lived & studied in the United States for a year. It seems natural that she should work in Travel Medicine later in life! After two resident years at the Royal Adelaide Hospital she moved to Brisbane in 1992, working at the Royal Brisbane Hospital for a year, & then deciding to train as a General Practitioner. In 1996 she completed her Fellowship in General Practice. Over the following years, she worked part time for the Australian Defence Forces as well as in General Practice. In 2004 she completed her Fellowship in Nutritional & Environmental Medicine. Currently she is completing a Masters in Public Health & Tropical Medicine at James Cook University.
