The dengue fever outbreak that started in August this year has hit the east and central parts of the country the hardest - up to October 16th, the capital Honiara reported 983 cases while Guadalcanal province recorded 161, Malaita province 67 and one is Isabel province. Males and females have been equally affected and more infections have been seen in the under 15 years and 25 - 49 year age groups.
