Chikungunya Spreads to West Coast of Pakistan

The chikungunya outbreak that struck Karachi in December, producing over 1,400 cases, appears to have now spread to Gwadar in Balochistan province. Almost 2,000 residents of the port city have suffered symptoms typical of the mosquito-borne illness, prompting authorities to carry out tests to confirm the causative virus. Read more.
