Drug weakens in fight against TB

India: Drug resistant TB. Drug-resistant pulmonary tuberculosis (DR-TB) is a significant public health issue in many countries. A recent study published in the BioMedCentral found an alarming > 40% occurrence of DRTB in India. The authors concluding: that the ‘alarming increase in the trend of anti-TB drug resistance in India’ requires changes to the countries surveillance methods and treatment strategies to improve patient outcomes. Read more
